Uveitis includes infections that affect the wall of the eye and can be associated with systemic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and lymphoma.

Uveitis is an inflammation of the uveal layer of the eyeball which includes the iris, ciliary body and choroid. It is most commonly idiopathic but sometimes relates to injuries, infections or cancer. Uveitis is classified in anterior, intermediate and posterior based on which part of the choroid is affected.
