The orbital dermoid cyst is a benign congenital tumor that consists of histologically normal cells occurring in an abnormal location.
It is the most common orbital mass in children.
It arises usually in the lateral aspect of the sub-brow area. Surgical excision is recommended to prevent traumatic rupture of the cyst that might cause orbital inflammation.
